Tour the Islands
St. Vincent and the Grenadines is an island chain beginning with St. Vincent and ending with Petit St. Vincent.
St. Vincent
The main island in the chain, Kingstown is the nation’s capital, located on the south west coast of the island. On the Leeward Coast sits Wallilabou Bay. This small entry port is also the location of the opening scenes for the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean The Curse of the Black Pearl”. As you travel the Windward Coast of the island, you will see the new construction site for the international airport slated for completion in the next few years. The interior of the island houses La Soufriere Volcano. This is an active volcano accessible from several trails. The interior also boasts the Mesopotamia Valley, often referred to as St. Vincent's "breadbasket". This lush area contains farms cut into the sides of its sharp valleys producing fruits, vegetables, root crops and spices.
Young Island
This 35 acre island is just south of St. Vincent and home to a private resort.
Bequia
Full of beautiful, friendly people and unique shops including an internet café. This island also holds a legacy in boat building and whaling. You can find detailed hand crafted model boats in the main part of town.
Mustique
Rich and famous homeowners own this island. The homes are exquisite, and at the famous Basils Bar you never know who you will see.
Canouan
Lying 25 miles south of St. Vincent, this island has white sand beaches with a rugged wooded interior. It is famous for its Canouan Resort and Golf Club with views of the Caribbean Sea from every hole. It also boasts one of the Caribbean’s largest barrier reefs.
Mayreau
This is an idyllic Caribbean island with a total land mass of about 1.5 miles and just over 300 people. Spend a day lounging in the beautiful waters of Saltwhistle Bay and take a trip into town to say hello to Righteous Robert and Dennis at his Hideaway.
Tobago Cays
Uninhabited and surrounded by crystal clear waters full of sea turtles, corals, fish and other beautiful sea life, these five islands are a "must see". While here, you can snorkel on Horseshoe Reef, relax on pristine beaches and enjoy the perfect Caribbean sunset.
Union Island
This island is about 3 miles long by 1 mile wide and has around 2,500 residents. Union also has a very accessible airport. Visitors feel welcome walking thru the friendly village of Clifton. Here you can shop the open air markets, take in the colorful buildings and visit the internet cafe.
Happy Island
A hand crafted island? Happy Island is just that - privately owned and created just off the coast of Union Island by Janti. He cleaned up the natural waste of conch shells on the beaches of Union Island and made his very own Happy Island. When you visit expect a warm welcome, big smile and a Rum Punch. He also serves a variety of Island BBQ fare.
Palm Island
Located in the heart of the Grenadines, this 135 acre island has a beautiful resort named Palm Island and also has a few homes.
Mopion Island
Also known as Umbrella Island, this very small sand bar has only a single umbrella on it which seems to move as the tides change. This is a perfect spot to stop and enjoy a cold beverage, lunch and explore the extensive reef that surrounds the island.
Petit St. Vincent
This 113 acre island is home to a beautiful and exclusive resort named after the island. It is also the southernmost island in the chain of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
